Film performance made during Documenta 6 in
Kassel.
The subject matter was a film within a film.
I put a few black points on
a white screen and filmed the action for several minutes in
a single take. Then I again filmed the film being screened and standing in the projector's light, I added several new black points. Then I would film the second film on the reproduction table adding yet another several points. During the screening of that third film
in Kassel I stood in the projector's light and added
a few 'real' points onto the surface of the screen.
Four layers of film within a film. Four layers of time fused into
a single screening of strikingly similar black points.
